Your girl is back with yet another blog award – you guys have been too sweet to me this year! This time around I have been nominated for the Awesome Blogger Award which was originally created by Maggie over at Dreaming of Guatemala.
According to Miss Maggie, the Awesome Blogger “is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger”.
Before I get into the tag, I have to give a big shout out to the lovely Emma, one of the ladies from A Few Chapters ‘Til Love. Emma is one of my newest bookish friends and honestly, I can’t believe I’ve only just found her blog so be sure to check it out. Thank you, Emma! ❤
And now, let’s get into Emma’s questions;
☆ Thank the blogger who nominated you
☆ Tag this post with #awesomebloggeraward
☆ Answer all the questions given to you
☆ Nominate 5 people and let them know
☆ Write 10 questions for them to answer
1. What’s your favorite flower?
Like Belle, my favorite flower is Rose; specifically red roses. Nothing is more romantic than receiving a rose and the first flower I ever got was a red rose from my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. A red rose is the universal symbol of beauty and love.
2. When was the oldest book you own published?
As in oldest published or oldest owned??? Oldest published is my copy of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, which is considered to be his first work, penned before the 1590’s. Oldest owned are the books I was gifted when born; The Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter, Winnie the Pooh: the Complete Collection of Stories and Poems and a leather bind-up of Little Women and Little Men.
3. Worst book to screen adaptation in your opinion?
To be perfectly honest, I’ve never come out of a movie theater and completely hated the adaption I’d seen. Okay, sure – they are never perfect but that’s the nature of adaptions. Unpopular opinion alert but I actually enjoy seeing elements of my favorite books on the big screen.
4. Are you good at gardening / keeping houseplants alive?
Ummm… Sort of? I mean I haven’t killed any plants recently but then again I don’t keep any in my house. I have to admit, I’m pretty lazy when it comes to gardening and watering plants. I have managed to keep my herb garden alive so there’s that.
5. Favorite Shadowhunter rune?
Unpopular Opinion Alert: I’m not 100% sold on the Shadowhunter universe. Okay, I read the first four books when I was in High School but I could never bring myself to trudge through the City of Lost Souls. I feel like Cassandra Clare only knows how to write one book because they all start to read the same. I want to love them – everyone loves them but I can’t. Going off of the Shadowhunters website and it’s list of runes, I’m picking the Enkeli rune because it’s simple but elegant.
6. Do you plan your posts or write when you get inspired?
I’m really not much of a plotter or planner when it comes to reader or writing. I’m a serious mood reader and that reflects in my writing too. That being said, I’ll have a general idea of some post ideas. This month I’ve been making an effort to plan more and so far it seems to be working out.
7. What would you do if you got given $10,000 but you could only spend it today?
Okay, first I would place a hefty order from Booktopia – all hardcovers of course! – and then I’d jet set over to Disneyland and the Grand Californian Hotel for a week of adventuring and magic because, let’s face it, Disney is my life. Also, Splash Mountain anyone???
8. Do you have pets? Can we see them (cause I love a cute animal)?
I have a baby bunny named Flopsy after Beatrix Potter’s mischievous little Flopsy Bunnies, who is a few months old. She is a little Neverland dwarf with a pure white coat, sandy paws, a pink nose and azure blue eyes. She is such a beautiful bunny – and she knows it! When she’s not digging and playing she’s grooming her soft fur to perfection. Flopsy lives in the house and is as cheeky as her namesakes.
9. Least favorite type of candy?
I am known to eat anything and everything with sugar; chocolate, liquorice, lollies, candy, cookies – literally everything. My favorite soft lollies are those pineapples you get in party packs. Probably the only thing I won’t eat are peppermint lollies because ewwww!
10. Prettiest book cover / jacket in your opinion?
This is a no brainer! As soon as I unboxed House of Salt and Sorrows I knew it would forever be my favorite cover ever. Not only is the cover nautical themed with shells and starfish but it captures perfectly the eerie mood and overall dark tone of the novel.

☆ If you could get a first, signed edition of any book what would it be and why?
☆ Gun to your head – who is your ultimate favorite Harry Potter character?
☆ What is your favorite Disney movie? What makes it your favorite?
☆ A hated adaption that you secretly [or not-so-secretly] loved.
☆ Recommend me the perfect summery book.
☆ What’s your favorite season?
☆ Do you have a song that always gets you into that summer vibe?
☆ A secret door has just appeared in your library – it’s an old wooden door with wrought iron detailing. Where does it take you?
☆ It’s happening – you are about to get in your first fight! What is the soundtrack to your fight?
☆ What is the best blogging advice you’ve ever been given?
☆ Halloween or Christmas?
Omg if I had all that money I would totally buy myself the Disneyland annual pass with no blackout dates and just go there like every day it would be glorious if you’re not spending all your money on Disney wyd? also YES splash mtn is my favorite ride in the park and now I really want to go thankuverymuch

Flopsy is adorable except she is 100% in the naughty corner today because she scratched me bad when I picked her up last night. Ow! I can’t wait to see your answers! x ❤

Awwww thank you so much for the tag, saltmate!!! 😭❤️ We love you more than we love books (OH YEAH, WE SAID IT!!) Hehehe both of us are 10000% Cassie Clare trash but we totally recognise that her books follow a pretty clear formula & even though they’re EXTREMELY angsty, you know things will always work out in the end (OR DO THEY?! DUN DUN DUNNNN) 😂
We KNEW there were more reasons why we get along so well – both of us are also MAJOR mood readers & the same goes for our blog. Generally we’ll just write whatever we feel like 😂 I mean, this probably translates into all aspects of our lives, tbh 😂
Can’t wait to answer your questions!

Yay I am so glad you wanted to do this tag! I loved reading your answers!
Also, I am so sorry about the publishing / old book question, I am cringing so hard rn at that horrible grammatical sentence. I can’t even remember what I was trying to say with those two words now!

omg finally someone who thinks the same on book to movie adaptations!!! I never hated one as I don’t mine seeing things changing – a movie is a new take on the story for me, and I agree with any changes as long as the heart of the story still is in it!
Thank you so much for tagging me, it means a lot ❤

YAS – a kindred spirit! I honestly don’t know why people hate them so much? Of course things need to change! Unpopular Opinion alert; I actually loved the Vampire Academy movie more than the books. In fact, it was my shameless love of the movie that originally prompted me to pick up the books in the first place! ❤ And you are most welcome for the tag x

I’m not a huge shadow hunter fan either! I read the first books and I enjoyed them but I didn’t really feel the need to finish the series. Also mood reading is the best ❤
